Words and Days (CD 1989) First Jones Very record. Lou Giordano and I mixed it at the old Fort Apache South, in Upham's Corner. Because of the break-ins, we mixed it with Rafe's loaded .38 on the mixing board. Finished one night about three, and walked outside to find every bench in the park across the street on fire. Roadrunner fucked me over royally on the record. Click on the cover to hear my hymn to aridity, Red Sky Dry. |

Radiowave (CD 1991) Live disc, pulled from two radio broadcasts at college stations in Boston. JV used to dump songs we heard on the radio into the set. There are two here: Thankufalettinmebemiceelfagin by Sly and the Family Stone, and Immigrant Song by Zep. Photo by Corrie Yablon. Click on the cover to hear the live version of the Cold War anthem, Yesterday in the Western World . |

Trains of Thought (CD 1991) First record for Jade Tree, a label we had high hopes for. Unfortunately Jade Tree turned out to be like a lot of independent record companies--a ripoff. All the records we gave them ended up coming out much too late to help the band in terms of radio or tour support. And we never saw royalty one. Nonetheless, this record has its moments: click on the cover to hear Fugitive Time, which features a remarkable bass coda by Jeff Goddard. Jamie Van Bremer on drums. |

No More/Feet of Clay (7" 1991) Single from the Trains of Thought EP. The flip side features the only slide guitar playing I've ever put on tape. Click on the cover to hear the best Husker Du song Husker Du never wrote, No More. |

Straight Time/Ideas New Tomorrow (7" 1992) Single for the New Life for Lies album. By this time things had gone so wrong for the band that we had broken up. It would be another two years before the album we recorded for this single was released. Click on the cover to hear the A side. |

New Life for Lies (CD 1994) How about that cover art? Jade Tree sat on this record for two years after we recorded it, claiming they were working on the cover art. Then they maintained the reason they couldn't pay the band royalties was because of the expense of the cover art. You go figure. Click on the cover to hear our ballad to sunny optimism, Burning World. |

First Five Years (CD 2001) Another surprise from Jade Tree. I was in a record store one day and discovered they had re-released Trains of Thought as a congratulations to themselves for being an independent record label. They never asked to if they could release the record--said they couldn't find me. Of course, with my own domain name on the Web, I'm virtually invisible. Click on the record art to hear the timely ballad, It Comes Around. | |
